HEAD coach Carl Hogg was frustrated with a string of unforced errors in a disjointed first-half performance from Warriors.

Hogg believes Warriors must be more accurate with their attacking play and retain more possession.

“Getting 50-odd points was a good out - come but we are still frustrated,” he said.

“In the dressing room, we talked about driving our internal standards because I thought early-on, especially in the first- half, we did not operate as accurately as we could have.

“We are frustrated that we made so many mistakes in the first-half.

“In the next couple of weeks it’s about us driving our internal standards.

“We are trying to find a balance between freedom and expression but playing with the right structure and in the right places on the field.

“We have got lots to work on – we are aware of that.

“If we want to get better week on week we have to challenge ourselves to make de - cisions and be better in execution and be more clinical.

“I am sure the young players have learned a lot from it.

“We want to play with a little bit more freedom and we want players to go out there and express themselves.

“I thought our ball retention and un - forced errors in the first-half were poor.”

Hogg said he was delighted that wing - ers Tom Biggs and Sam Smith crossed the whitewash.

“It’s good to see guys like Tom on the ball and Sam and Ben Howard,” he said.

“We know the pace, power and threat we have out there. We have to make sure we create opportunities for them.

“Teams are being competitive for 50 to 60 minutes and we hope our overall fitness and accuracy can take over in that last 20 minutes.”

He added: “Val Rapava Ruskin is a very powerful athlete and is someone we can bring on and develop. He’s got huge poten - tial and we need to find a platform for him to maximise that.”

Nottingham head coach Martin Haag was pleased with his side’s display, apart from soft tackling which led to tries that proved crucial.

“I thought we were in the game for the first 25 to 30 minutes.

“We let Worcester come back at us with a couple of soft tries before half-time,” he said. “But even after that, we got back into the game.

“A lot of the credit must go to our lads because they dug deep and it was a much improved performance from the match against Jersey.

“It just shows what we can do. Tactically, we got it spot -on. We got back into the game but Worcester brought on a lot of quality from the bench.

“I thought that, except for a couple of sloppy bits right at the end of each half, we were in the game.

“I hate losing – especially when we con - cede 50 points – but there were still some really positive things we can take from the game.”
