WING Tom Biggs will look to glean experience from Warriors’ stalwarts Jonny Arr and Alex Grove ahead of the Championship play-offs.

The former Bath star admits the end-of-season finale, which involves two-legged play-off matches, is not something he’s experienced before.

“It’s not a situation I have ever been involved in,” said 30-year-old Biggs.

“When I was at Leeds, it was just a straight route from the second tier — if you won the league you got promoted.

“The only thing you can compare it to is the old Heineken Cup when you played back-to-back home and away matches against the same club. It’s an interesting concept and we have known it would be like that from the start of the season.

“Guys like Jonny and Alex have been around the play-off system before and it’s exciting. We have got a big game against Bristol at the end of the season (next weekend) and still want to finish first in the league.”

Biggs has scored 12 tries in 19 games for Warriors this term since his arrival from Premiership outfit Bath.

The wing joined Warriors after bagging 32 tries in 127 Premiership matches in spells with Leeds, Newcastle and Bath.

He has been passed fit to return after being knocked out in a collision in Warriors’ 23-21 defeat in Jersey last month.

“I think there’s a real buzz about what’s coming up,” said Biggs. “I have spoken to a few guys at Bristol, they have got a good buzz among themselves and it’s going to be an exciting end to the season. I think we learned lessons about our game management against Jersey.

“Individually and collectively, we weren’t good enough so it was important to use that loss as a kick up the backside.

“We did that the following week with the scoreline against London Scottish.”

Biggs added: “I have played in the Championship before and it’s very difficult, at times, going to smaller grounds.

“The mental preparation is just as important as the physical preparation.

“It has been eventful and hopefully we will be in the Premiership next season.”

Meanwhile, tickets for the home leg of Warriors’ Championship play-off semi-final on Friday, May 8, have already gone on sale.
