WORCESTER Warriors backrow forward Richard de Carpentier has kept his place in the England Sevens squad for this weekend’s Marriott London Sevens.
The sevens side comes to Twickenham for the final round of the HSBC Sevens World Series on the back of a third-place finish in Glasgow last weekend having beaten USA 24-19 in a closely-fought final play-off match.
England’s position in the penultimate tournament of the season maintained their series ranking of fourth, 16 points ahead of closest rivals Australia in fifth place.
Simon Amor’s men will head Pool C and will face Scotland, Kenya and Brazil on Saturday in front of a sell-out crowd.
The 2014/15 season carries added significance as the four top-ranked sides in the series qualify directly for the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016.
Following their performances in Glasgow, Fiji, South Africa and New Zealand have confirmed their place in Rio, with just the fourth and final spot still be decided in London.
