WING James Stephenson has left Worcester Warriors, according to director of rugby Dean Ryan.

The 25-year-old featured just six times for Worcester last season, scoring a try in a 39-0 win at Moseley in October’s British and Irish Cup pool match.

The winger bagged a try against Cardiff Blues on his Warriors debut and went on to make 11 appearances during his first season at the club.

Warriors do not normally disclose player departures and supporters are still awaiting news of the club making a signing since the Sixways outfit clinched their return to the Aviva Premiership in May.

Ryan has also confirmed the departure of 28-year-old Argentinian fly-half Ignacio Mieres several weeks after Warriors’ chief executive Jim O’Toole had broken the news.

He said: “I would like to thank Ignacio and James for their efforts during their time at Warriors and wish them the best of luck for the future.”

Hammersmith-born Stephenson joined Warriors ahead of the 2013-14 campaign from Bedford Blues after racking up a blistering 15 tries in his final season at Goldington Road.

Stephenson had moved to Bedford from Blackheath in 2012 following 19 tries in a season in National League One.

Meanwhile, tickets are available for Warriors’ London Double Header at Twickenham on Saturday, November 28.

Three blocks of seating for supporters from Warriors have been reserved at Twickenham.

In a bumper day of rugby in the capital, Worcester will face Saracens at 3.15pm before London Irish take on Wasps at 5.30pm.
