FORMER New Zealand fly-half Carlos Spencer will be coaching the Barbarians in next month’s clash against Worcester Warriors at Sixways.
Spencer will lead the group of stars against Dean Ryan’s men for what could be a tasty encounter on September 5 (3pm).
The fixture is Warriors’ first warm-up match ahead of their Aviva Premiership opener against Northampton Saints at Sixways on October 16.
Warriors host Wasps in their second pre-season friendly on September 26 be - fore travelling to face Saracens on October 3.
Spencer won 35 caps for the All Blacks and the Barbarians side will include fellow countrymen Ali Williams and Carl Hayman and South African duo Bakkies Botha and Pierre Spies.
With the experienced Williams and Hayman in the Barbarians forwards, Warriors’ pack should be tested ahead of their campaign in the Aviva Premiership.
Spencer played for New Zealand Super Rugby side the Blues and went on to represent the Auckland side until 2005, winning the competition in 2003.
