WORCESTER Warriors flanker Sam Betty is putting local sportspeople through their paces at a new gym in the city.
Betty, who turns 29 years old tomorrow, is a level three-qualified personal trainer and is whipping people into shape with fitness classes at FIT3SIXTY.
Betty has been at Warriors since 2011 and is using his experiences as a professional sportsman to shape the sessions.
“I am almost 29 now and I have got to start thinking about things I could do when I finish my rugby career, which hopefully won't be soon," he said.
"The classes are something I can do in my spare time alongside the rugby.
“At the moment, I am doing a group class on a Monday and Wednesday night and I am enjoying it.”
He added: “People coming down to the classes are mainly young rugby players and we are doing similar stuff to the things I do at Worcester Warriors.
“Among the group are a couple of lads from Malvern and a girl who plays rugby for Worcester Ladies and I think they are enjoying it. We always have space for more people."
