WORCESTER Warriors centre Alex Grove has joined Championship strugglers London Scottish on loan.

The former Scotland international is one of Warriors' longest-serving players and has made 151 first-team appearances for the club.

Grove's brother, Oli Grove, is at Scottish and he will be training with them ahead of Saturday's Championship match against Yorkshire Carnegie.

Scottish are third from bottom in Championship, just six points better off than Moseley and Ealing Trailfinders who are locked at the foot of the table.

Grove captained Warriors in in their disappointing European Challenge Cup home 22-15 defeat against Zebre on January 16.

But the 28-year-old was not in Worcester's squad for the 35-11 defeat against La Rochelle on Friday night.

Grove was outstanding in his one Premiership appearance this term.

Grove scored a brace of tries when he deputised for Wynand Olivier in Warriors’ 28-20 win against relegation rivals Newcastle Falcons in November.

Grove played a significant role in Warriors' British and Irish Cup-winning campaign last term and helped his side bounce back to the Aviva Premiership at the first time of asking.

Warriors have not specified the length of Grove's loan spell at Scottish.

A short Warriors club statement said Grove's move to the Exiles was for him to "gain more adequate game-time".
