WORCESTER Warriors fans can buy areas of the Sixways pitch to raise money for Acorns Children’s Hospice.

The Aviva Premiership club are giving supporters until 1pm on Saturday to buy their favourite patches of the main grass surface.

The turf will be cut on Monday morning and must be collected by supporters by 6pm that evening.

Warriors are replacing their grass pitch with an artificial surface over the summer which they hope will get plenty of community use next season.

“People have an opportunity to buy a part of the grass that's seen so many talented players and epic matches,” said a Warriors spokesman.

Each square metre of the turf, which will come in three strips, costs £20, with all proceeds going to the club’s official charity partner, Acorns.
