WORCESTER Warriors head coach Carl Hogg hasn’t ruled out summer signings but admits he’s “really comfortable” and “confident” with the current squad.

New faces Jackson Willison (centre), Ben Te’o (centre), Matt Williams (hooker) and Will Spencer (lock) are all joining for the Sixways club’s second season back in the top tier.

Hogg has taken over first-team duties following the shock resignation last month of director of rugby Dean Ryan after three years.

The former Scotland international says he will “manage the squad differently to Dean” but they do share similar views on the game.

Hogg believes Warriors will be “travelling” into the Aviva Premiership season with the current crop of players in the squad at this stage.

“If there’s somebody who we think can enhance our squad, we will look to do it but at the moment I am really comfortable and really confident with the squad we’ve got,” said Hogg.

“That doesn’t negate that when someone appears and they can be of benefit to the squad, we will try to bring them in.

“There’s always players who fall from out of left field, whether that’s coming out of Super 15 or ITM, but there’s always the names of people who get dropped on your desk and we will look to review that diligently as we always do.”

Hogg has been working as the Warriors head coach for three years but has taken on more responsibility since Ryan departed Sixways.

“I will manage the squad differently to Dean,” said Hogg.

“Dean and I view the game very similarly and we worked alongside each other for a number of years, so you tend to have a similar philosophy on the way you play the game and view players in a similar way.

“I think I will manage players differently to Dean because I have got a different personality to him and it’s something I am really looking forward to.”

Hogg added: “I have been in and around the game for 15 years coaching at Premiership level and this is a wonderful opportunity for me.”
