BEN Howard blasted 20 runs off the final over to give Worcester Warriors a last-ball triumph in a fundraising match against Martley on Tuesday.
The Premiership rugby club edged home by two wickets, with full-back Howard (71 not out) displaying fine form with the bat.
Martley’s Tom Vale (32), a media manager at Warriors, cracked three sixes in an over from Gerrit-Jan van Velze, in the hosts’ 218-9 from 20 overs.
Dave Soothill (32), Pat Bibby (30) and Dom Jones (21) also weighed in for the hosts at Jewry Field.
Van Velze snared three wickets, while Howard took 2-10 and there was one wicket apiece for Niall Annett and Luke Baldwin.
Warriors fell to 68-5 before Huw Taylor (55) and Perry Humphreys (31) repaired the damage.
Howard hit 12 runs from the first four balls of the last over before slamming two boundaries off the final two balls to seal it.
Vale said: “Martley were the victim of theft last year and the funds raised will go towards replenishing the equipment lost.”
