WORCESTER Warriors’ Sixways headquarters will be hosting the British American Football Association's Summer League final later this month.

The under 19s final will kick-off at 12pm on Saturday, August 27, while the adult Premiership final will begin at 4pm.

Earlier this month, chief executive Jim O’Toole revealed Warriors would be hosting sports “never seen” in the city before.

“We will be announcing some more exciting non-rugby events that will be taking place in sports you would never have seen in Sixways or Worcester before,” said O’Toole.

Warriors ripped up their grass playing surface this summer and converted to the latest generation of artificial grass.

The new turf, which has cost Warriors a significant six-figure fee, will allow more use for the club’s elite, academy and community rugby sections as well as hosting events.

O'Toole said: "We welcome the British American Football finals - a sport which is continuing to grow in this country.

"Our new artificial grass pitch has given us opportunities to host events of this nature, which helps to build our profile to sports fans across the region.”
