ENGLAND centre Ben Te’o has returned to Worcester Warriors to prepare for tomorrow’s M5 derby against Gloucester at Kingsholm.

Te’o spent Monday and Tuesday in Brighton with the England squad ahead of the Six Nations opener with France on February 4.

The Auckland-born ex-Leinster ace has scored three tries in six Premiership matches for Worcester.

Eddie Jones names his final England Six Nations squad on January 20 and Te’o is expected to be included.

“Ben trained with England on Monday and Tuesday and he was great against Harlequins,” said Warriors head coach Carl Hogg. “He gave us that bit of go-forward and he performed very well.”

Te’o won three Test caps with England in the autumn internationals after travelling with the squad last summer to Australia.

He spent seven years playing rugby league before switching codes in 2014.

In league, Te’o played for New Zealand under 18s and Samoa as well as for West Tigers, Brisbane Broncos and South Sydney Rabbitohs.

The star caused a stir last month after revealing his “frustrations” in a national report at where second-from-bottom Warriors find themselves in the league.

But Hogg said: “Ben has come from rugby league where it’s all about performing and winning and his thoughts are geared towards creating a culture that’s about winning.

“That was one of the reasons why we were very keen for him to come to Warriors and he was keen to come to us because he could see the long-term building of this club.”
