WARRIORS

7 Howard – good under the high ball in testing conditions and strong in defence.

6 Humphreys – didn’t see much of the ball before going off injured as Warriors were forced to defend for large periods early on with 14 men.

7 Pennell – steady performance at unfamiliar centre role but stout in defence.

7 Willison – strong defensive display against two big centres and held the midfield well.

5 Hammond – struggled in the heavy rain as he dropped a couple of high balls and lost the ball in collision.

7 Shillcock – used his big left foot to good effect earning field position and clearing danger but not always accurate.

5 Dowsett – didn’t get much chance to get into the game before going off early with injury.

7 Bower – faced up against former Warrior James Johnston in a real tough heavyweight contest.

5 Haupt – tough first 80-minute Warriors display for the South African in rough conditions but lineout went pretty well.

5 Kerrod – sin-binned and struggled to get upper hand against a whopping Brive pack.

6 Barry – lineout functioned pretty well in tough conditions and threw himself around the field.

6 Phillips – no faulting the big man’s effort before he hobbled off after a very physical evening.

6 Fa’osiliva – some big hits on his fellow Islanders in a physical showing but Warriors’ pack could not match the French side up front on the night.

7 COX – a very busy man throughout with carries and winning turnovers but high tackle blotted his copy book. He will be looking to knock on door of first-team.

7 van Velze – gave his all and tried to command his side but spent most of the evening on the back foot.
