DIRECTOR of rugby Alan Solomons has rubbished rumours linking Worcester Warriors wing Josh Adams with a summer switch to Dragons.

Warriors’ boss insisted there was “no foundation” to the claims and stressed the Aviva Premiership’s top try-scorer would continue to ply his trade at Sixways next season.

Dragons head coach Bernard Jackman fuelled speculation over a possible move for Adams when he said he hoped one of his signings would “cause a stir”.

According to Wales Online, the Pro14 outfit were in advanced talks with Warriors and Adams whose contract expires at the end of the 2018-19 campaign in a bid to sign the Wales international.

The report suggested Warriors would command some sort of fee to release Adams from his contract a year early.

However, Solomons insisted the club had received “absolutely zero” contact from Dragons and Adams was “very happy” at Worcester.

“Josh is under contract at Warriors for next season so he definitely won’t be going anywhere,” Solomons said.

“I have not even spoken to him about (the rumours). It is rugby so people just speculate but there is clearly no foundation to it whatsoever.

“He will be playing here next season, that’s for sure.”

Adams joined Warriors’ academy in 2015 from Scarlets before bursting onto the scene last term, crossing the whitewash on 13 occasions.

The in-form back now sits at the top of the league’s try-scoring charts with 10 tries in 15 games and made his Wales debut earlier this month.

He featured in their 34-7 win over Scotland at the Principality Stadium before starting in their 12-6 defeat to England at Twickenham.

Under the new 60-cap rule brought in by the WRU, Adams will need to move to a Welsh region when his current deal runs out in the summer of 2019 if he wants to keep his international ambitions alive.

But Solomons said Adams was enjoying playing for Warriors where he has “made his name”.

“Josh is very happy here,” Solomons said.

“He came here from Wales where he didn’t play for the Scarlets as far I am aware.

“He then came through the academy here and has grown at Warriors and played fantastically.

“He has made his name through this club.”
