ANTON Bresler has been ruled out of Worcester Warriors’ next two Aviva Premiership games due to a calf problem.

The lock sustained the injury ahead of Warriors’ clash against Leicester Tigers last month and has been battling to recover since then.

Last week director of rugby Alan Solomons said Bresler was not 100 per cent fit as Warriors began their preparations for Saturday’s battle with Newcastle Falcons (3pm).

But Solomons has now ruled the 30-year-old out of the match and also expects him to miss the trip to Wasps the following Saturday.

“Bressy won’t be ready to play,” Solomons said.

“He is still trucking along but we will probably look towards the Harlequins game (at Sixways on Saturday, April 28) for him which would be more of an accurate assessment.”

With Bresler unavailable, Solomons decided to select Darren Barry in the second row alongside Will Spencer with Andrew Kitchener on the bench in place of Donncha O’Callaghan to face Sale Sharks.

Warriors crashed to a 58-25 defeat at the AJ Bell Stadium but Solomons was impressed with 21-year-old Kitchener.

“I thought Kitch had a really good game against Sale when he came on for a 30-minute cameo,” Solomons added.

“I thought Pierce Phillips had a very good game (for Worcester Cavaliers against Sale Jets on Monday night).

“Our lineout which he was calling operated really well so it’s good that we have got competition in that position.”
