JOSH Adams says he is “hungry” for more Wales caps as he looks to keep on firing for Worcester Warriors.

And the 22-year-old wing has quashed speculation over his Warriors future, insisting rumours linking him with a summer switch to Dragons were “rubbish”.

Although second-from-bottom Worcester have struggled this season Adams has been in sparkling form, running in 16 tries in 21 games.

His ability to cross the whitewash with regularity led to his first call-up to the national side ahead of the recent Six Nations.

Adams went on to make his debut in the 34-7 win over Scotland at the Principality Stadium before starting in the 12-6 loss to England at Twickenham.

This was to be his final outing for Wales as head coach Warren Gatland turned to experience for the last three games.

But Adams said he was “desperate” to represent his country again after getting his first taste of playing on the biggest stage.

“It was fantastic,” he said.

“I learnt a lot from the six weeks I was in camp with Wales.

“It was really nice to get the two caps as well.

“It was a bit unexpected but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it is something I am going to take forward.

“I am really hungry for more caps now and that’s going to drive me on.

“It’s such an honour and a great feeling to pull on your nation’s jersey and sing the anthem so it is something I am desperate to do again.”

While on international duty, a report from Wales Online suggested Adams was close to signing for Pro14 outfit Dragons.

Warriors director of rugby Alan Solomons insisted the Welsh flyer would remain at Sixways.

And Adams, whose contract expires at the end of next season, has also refuted the claims.

“I have no idea where that’s come from,” Adams said.

“It’s someone writing some rubbish.”

Adams increased his impressive haul with a brace in Warriors’ 58-25 defeat at Sale Sharks last month.

He has now touched down 12 times in 17 matches in the Aviva Premiership to keep him at the top of the try-scoring charts.

But with Worcester yet to retain their top-flight status Adams said the prospect of ending the campaign as the league’s most prolific player was not on his mind.

“It’s great to score but the team is the most important thing,” Adams added.

“If scoring tries is my job then fantastic but it’s for the team (first) and then individual accolades will follow.

“I am not looking at it (finishing as top try-scorer). It would be nice if it happens.

“I am going to keep playing the way I am, keep giving everything I have got every Saturday and if tries come off the back of that then fantastic.

“I am going to do what is best for the team.”
