FLY-HALF Dorian Jones has left Dragons after agreeing a two-year deal with French side Soyaux Angoulême.

The Welshman joined Worcester Warriors on loan in March after making just four starts for Dragons in the 2017-18 campaign.

Although Jones had another season left on his contract with the Welsh region he expressed his desire to secure a permanent move to Worcester.

The 26-year-old, son of former Worcester player Kingsley Jones, made four appearances for Warriors and helped to retain the club's Aviva Premiership status.

But with Duncan Weir and Jono Lance arriving at Sixways this summer a deal did not materialise and the stand-off has now decided to make the switch to France.

Soyaux Angoulême play in the second tier of French rugby and have also signed Worcester prop Biyi Alo.

In a message to his Twitter followers Jones said: "I would just like to thank everyone who has supported and helped me along my career in Wales.

“Being brought up and living in the heart of the region made it an extremely tough decision to leave Dragons.

“I’ve always wanted to represent my home town (Ebbw Vale) and region (Dragons) and will always appreciate those who gave me the opportunity to do so.

“I now move onto a new challenge and opportunity to play the sport I love in France.”
