A teenage girl is in a serious condition in hospital after being shot in the leg during a village disturbance which left a man dead.
Lincolnshire Police said officers were called to an address in Potterhanworth, near Lincoln, at about 9.20pm on Friday night.
A 17-year-old girl was taken to hospital in a "serious but stable" condition and a 51-year-old man in possession of a gun was found dead in a nearby field.
Police said they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the shooting.
A spokeswoman for Lincolnshire Police said: "Police were called to Fosters Gardens at 9.18pm after reports of a disturbance.
"Upon arrival officers found a 17-year-old girl with serious injuries to her leg, believed to be the result of a gunshot.
"She was taken to Lincoln County Hospital for immediate treatment, where her condition is currently described as serious but stable.
"An area search commenced and officers located a male in a field to the rear of the property. A gun was found with him.
"The man, believed to be a 51-year-old from the Grantham area was deceased.
"Officers are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the incident."
