A COMPANY that sells festive greetings cards for more than 24 national and local charities has opened its Christmas pop-up shop in Evesham.

Cards for Good Causes is operating from All Saints' Church, in The Market Place.

Area organiser Lyn O’Toole said: “Not only are Christmas cards an important source of funding for charities, they also help to raise awareness of their work. By popping into the Evesham shop, you can choose from a fantastic array of charity cards and stock up on all your essentials, such as wrapping paper and gift tags.

The organisation, formed in 1959, pays the participating charities or their trading subsidiaries at least 70p in every pound from their card sales, less the VAT payable on the amount retained by CFGC. The retained amount covers the costs of running the temporary charity Christmas card shops. In addition to these costs, the participants have to pay for the production and distribution of their cards.

The Evesham shop is staffed by local volunteers and is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm and Saturday 10am to 3pm.
