This Health Care Team Award, sponsored by Insitu, was looking for the team that worked together to deliver improved patient care.
Headway
Headway is an independent charity supporting people affected by acquired brain injury across Worcestershire.
The team goes “above and beyond” to offer specialist support, information and services to brain injury survivors and their families and carers.
Team members at Headway have been described as passionate and committed, who all act like one big family.
One person who nominated the team said: “Headway go above and beyond their remit, supporting people at crisis point and never stopping until they achieve an outcome.
“Their commitment is second to none and are the unsung heroes that many of us never knew but once you have dealings with them you are staggered just how much they have to offer for the Worcestershire community.
“I cannot champion this organisation enough. They all need a great big pat on the back and thank you for what they have and continue to achieve locally.”
Lawns Nursing Home
Lawns Nursing Home has been recognised for “transforming” the life of a mother since moving their in August last year.
The team have been supporting her cope with several medical issues and her mental health.
Her daughter said: “When she moved in she wasn’t eating proper meals, her blood sugars were out of control, she was suffering with anxiety and generally felt unwell all of the time.
“Melanie is a fantastic manager; she really cares about each person in the care home and makes it her business to make sure they are being looked after properly so they can live a happy and fulfilled life.
“Each and every person at the Lawns nursing home have helped to make each day so much more enjoyable “She now feels physically and emotionally well enough to able to get involved in social activities and enjoy her life.”
Abbotswood Medical Centre Team
Abbotswood Medical Centre Team members at Abbotswood Medical Centre in Pershore have been praised for their dedication and professionalism.
One patient said: “The care I received over a three year period was second to none. All the team showed such care and consideration in a painful situation. “They were equally knowledgeable and tried everything possible to make me comfortable.
“I have every faith in Nicky Henderson and her excellent band of happy nurses.”
Another patient said: “The doctors and nurses are extremely dedicated to patient care but not only that - they are ably supported by kind, caring and efficient admin staff.
“These include secretaries, receptionists and pharmaceutical employees, who it seems to me, can’t do enough for you. Together they provide an excellent service.
“As a patient I feel well looked after and am full of admiration for them, especially in these extraordinary times.”
