Super-excited, Covid vaccinated, and playing outside with one another again, Pershore U3A ukulele group members are looking forward to their first gig in two years.
Players met at Pershore Riverside Youth Centre to practice numbers from their repertoire.
Weekly Zoom meetings have gone some way to keep the ukers in touch while isolated in their own homes, but now they are allowed to meet up and play outside, thanks to lessening of the coronavirus restrictions.
Group leader Phil Edwards said: “Something very special happens when we play and sing together. We are now looking forward to our first gig in two years.”
The ukulele group will be entertaining the crowds at a Water Music Garden Party, to be held by Sarah Thomson, in aid of Christian Aid and Medecins Sans Frontieres. It is in the rear garden of 55 Bridge Street, Pershore, WR10 1AL, on Thursday, July 22, 2021, from 5.30pm until 8pm. Tickets will be available from Blue or on the gate at a cost of £7.
