AN aunt and niece have completed a charity dog walk to raise money for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity – and collected more than double the total they set out to reach.
Alice Watkins and her aunt Chloe Dobbs, who lives in the Brecon Beacons took on the challenge in memory of Alice’s granny, Angela Reed.
Chloe said: “Angela died in October last year after suffering from a stroke. She was taken ill at the Worcester horse sales and was rushed to the hospital in Worcester where she was cared for by the wonderful doctors and nurses for just over a week.
“Sadly Angela never recovered but Alice and I wanted to raise awareness and show our appreciation for their work by raising money for the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity.
“We set our target to £500 and to complete 160k in less than seven weeks, walking everyday after school and work commitments.
“We started walking on April 7 and finished in just 39 days! Not only did we finish in an amazing time but we doubled our target and raised an amazing £1,311.59!”
