WORCESTER Rugby Football Club will tomorrow celebrate the beginning of their 150th season with a fun-filled event at their ground; headlined by a match involving Worcester RFC Legends, past and present.
Some of the legends involved include Jonny Arr, Alex Grove, Thinus Delport and Miles Benjamin. They will be playing against Rugby For Heroes XV and will be refereed by Premiership and European official, Christophe Ridley.
The bar will be open from 12pm and there will also be live music throughout the afternoon as well as a BBQ and inflatables for the children from 2pm onwards.
Having struggled like most other grassroots rugby clubs throughout the last 18 months, the day will mark the start of a return for the local amateur game.
But Worcester RFC have had other struggles.
Last month a group of travellers set up camp on the pitches on Offerton Lane and left "plenty of damage"; including graffiti and a smashed shelter.
The club were forced to appeal to the community for donations to help restore the site.
