WORCESTER RFC have secured the coaching services of Warriors duo Niall Annett and Billy Searle for the new season.

The amateur club, who are based just across the road from Sixways, have three teams across the senior set up, but also a large mini and junior section.

Searle and Annett will join head coach Tim Pickard in leading the senior teams, who train twice a week and play on Saturdays.

With their playing commitments , the Warriors pair will not make too many game but the knowledge and experience they will bring to coaching sessions will be invaluable to Worcester RFC,

Club President, Stephen LLoyd says it's a "real boost" for everyone involved.

"It’s fantastic for the club that we are able to have both Billy Searle and Niall Annett as a part of our coaching team," he said.

"The insight they have will be invaluable to us, but on top of that, it’s a real boost for our players. As we come back to some sort of normal rugby we need to get players pre-season enthusiasm back & having these two in the coaching team will certainly bring that.

"It’s a great time to be a player or supporter at Worcester RFC."

With a mixed ability team, a Saxons team and a Women's side, the club are always looking to welcome anyone, of all abilities and ages, to join and enjoy their rugby.

Hooker Annett was involved with the set up last season and is hoping to create an "enjoyable" environment.

He said: "One of the main things I’m looking forward to is creating a really enjoyable environment where players feel they’re improving as a rugby player."

Fly-half Searle added: "I’m really looking forward to getting to know all the players & the coaching staff that I’ll be working.

"Hopefully I can add to the team on & off the pitch and have a really fun & successful year."

The seniors train from 7-8.30 pm on Tuesday and Thursday nights and for anybody wishing to get involved, the message is simple, just get down to the club on a training night or head to their website: https://worcesterrfc.club/membershipinformation for more details.
