Family fundraise for mum's funeral after her sudden death at just 55

Michelle Mitchell was found dead in the bathroom of her home on the same day as her son was seriously injured in a crash at Hinton on Green, Evesham.

The 55-year-old mum leaves behind five sons and one daughter - Matt, Jordan, Ryan, Ross, Aaron and Carys.

Her devastated family are now trying to organise her funeral and get her affairs in order but without a will in place it is proving difficult and expensive.

Her daughter-in-law Samantha Blincoe discovered the grandmother-of-six in the bathroom of her home in Cheltenham on Wednesday, November 10.

Ms Blincoe, who live off Cheltenham Road, Evesham, said: "Michelle was loved by everyone. She was such a character.

"Originally she was from Winchcombe born and bred and everyone just adored her.

"She got on with everyone and was the life and soul of the party.

"Being so young this has come as a massive shock for her family.

"She only met our six-month-old daughter Olivia once before she died."

Ms Blincoe's partner Jordan was involved in a crash on the A46 the morning of his mum's death.

On the same day there  was a crash between a car and lorry on that stretch of the A49 which ended in one person dying.

"It's been a really bad time.

"Jordan still has horrific chest pains - he can't sit or do anything.

"He's not in a good way and is suffering every day.

"It's been two weeks and he still isn't getting better."

The family are expecting the costs to reach £7,000 for the funeral and solicitors fees.

Ms Blincoe said Michelle's friends and family had been asking how they can help pay for the funeral so they have set up a GoFundMe page.

They include her friends at Iceland in Cheltenham and colleagues at Savers on the High Street.

Ms Blincoe urged everyone to make sure they have a will in place.

"We never expected this to happen. It's a horrible thing to talk about but you need to get things in place.

"It's the little things like nobody knows what she wanted for her funeral.

"We've had to get a solicitor involved because there is no will so nobody has been left in charge to do things like close the bank account down."
