The line-up has been announced for the Guiting Music Festival, which this year runs from July 19 to July 28.

A spokesman said: “The charming village of Guiting Power, near Stow on the Wold in the Cotswolds, is the venue for this niche festival, now in its 49th year. It brings an exciting variety of highly talented performances of classical, jazz and blues music by highly renowned artists from around the world.

“There are eight evening performances in Guiting Power Village Hall, and two open-air jazz and blues events on Sunday July 21 and Sunday July 28, held in the playing field behind the Village Hall.”

The spokesman added: “The latter are a great family day out with guests bringing children, well behaved dogs, rugs, camping chairs, gazebos and picnics. Free parking is available for all events.”

Highlights will include Welsh harpist Catrin Finch and Senegalese kora player Seckou Keita; the Elias String Quartet, “one of the most intense and vibrant quartets of their generation”; and open air jazz concert featuring The Antonio Forcione Quartet and The Jason Rebello Trio, and a performance by Antonio Forcione, “hailed as one of the most charismatic guitarists at large”.

Then don’t forget the Aquarelle Guitar Quartet; the cellist Laura van der Heijden and Jams Coleman on the piano.

The spokesman added: “Laura was named BBC Young Musician 2012 aged 15. Her debut album ‘1948’ was named Recording of the Month by BBC Music Magazine.”

Other highlights will include pianist Saskia Giorgini, “praised for her ‘unerring technique, a beautiful and moving sound, a pure musicality’; and a performance by Ruby Hughes, soprano.
