Taylor Lautner and Dan Aykroyd are to star in Adam Sandler’s first Netflix movie, Ridiculous 6.
The Twilight hunk, best known for playing werewolf Jacob Black, and the Ghostbusters star join a starry line-up for the funnyman’s film, which also includes Nick Nolte, Danny Trejo, Steve Buscemi, Terry Crews and Rob Schneider.
Other stars who could be making an appearance include The Voice judge and country singer Blake Shelton, comedian Whitney Cummings, Vanilla Ice, Luke Wilson and Steve Zahn, sources told The Wrap.
Ridiculous 6, a comedic spin on ensemble Westerns like The Magnificent Seven, is being written by Adam and Tim Herlihy, and will be the first film under Adam’s ground-breaking deal with online streaming service Netflix.
Adam is tipped to play an orphan who grows up as part of a tribe. Taylor (who appeared in Grown Ups 2 alongside him), Rob, Luke and Terry are rumoured to portray his half-brothers.
Nick is expected to be cast as Adam’s long-lost father, with Whitney as his flirtatious wife. Blake is in line to play Wyatt Earp, while rapper Vanilla Ice is rumoured to play Mark Twain.
Production on the movie will start in February.
Adam, who next stars in Sony’s Pixels and will reprise his role as Dracula in animated feature Hotel Transylvania 2, signed a deal to produce four movies for Netflix in October. The other projects will be announced in coming months.
