YOUNGSTERS at Fladbury First School collected food for a Worcester day centre as part of their annual harvest festival celebrations.

The whole school paraded down to the village church for their service of thanksgiving on September 27 where they sang songs, acted and gave readings based around harvest.

Ahead of the service, children also collected fruit from an nearby orchard in the village.

All the food collected on the day was donated to Maggs Day Centre, in Worcester.

Alison Marlow, Fladbury First School secretary, said: “The children had a fantastic time – it was really good.

“They did a collection in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and came back into the school after for tea and cakes. Some of the children came back and helped with that,” she added. “It was really nice.”
