A LECTURE is taking place this weekend in support of the Evesham Abbey Bell Tower Appeal.
The talk will be given by historian Dr Nick Lloyd and is called Hundred Days: The End of the Great War.
It focuses on how the Armistice, which brought the Great War to an end, marked a seminal moment in modern European and world history.
Beginning at the much heralded turning-point on the Marne in July 1918, Nick will trace the epic story of the next four months, which included some of the bloodiest battles of the war.
The event will take place at All Saints Church on Saturday (June 7) at 7.30pmand there will be tea, coffee and light refreshments on arrival.

And on Sunday (June 8) there will be a store collection in aid of the appeal at Morrisons.
