A SOLAR farm covering a little more than three hectares of land has been given the thumbs up by planners at Wychavon District Council.
The small scale solar farm, which should produce enough energy to power 600 house holds, will be built on land at Sytchwythy Fields, Sidings Lane, Aldington, near Evesham.
Two fields will be covered in the panels but Tim Perkins, of RPS on behalf of applicants AR Partners said it was not good quality soil being just grade 3b agricultural land.
Councillor Keith Wright said he knew the site quite well.
"It's a good site," he said. "It's not intrusive. I have no problem with recommending approval."
