AN EVESHAM care home has been named one of the best in the West Midlands.

Briarlea Care Home in Badsey Road was named 11th out of 795 homes in the region in a study of standards such as care and support, cleanliness, activities and value for money.

This places the home in the top 20 in the West Midlands for the second year running and makes it the most recommended in the Evesham area.

The home is owned and run by Mark and Sally Widdows.

Mr Widdows said: “We’re delighted to receive this award which confirms the care and dedication delivered everyday by our wonderful care team to assist all our residents in leading an independent, enjoyable and fruitful life at our lovely home."

The study was carried out by online care home directory carehome.co.uk and was based on recommendations from residents as well as their friends and relatives.

The website’s director Davina Ludlow applauded the home for the achievement.

“We felt the best people to say how good a care home really is, are the residents and their families and friends,” she said.

“Their recommendations show the warmth and excellent care that exists in so many care homes.

“Briarlea Care Home has proved that it provides great care and we’d like to congratulate it on being a top recommended home in the West Midlands.

“It’s a fantastic achievement to be recognised for being a highly recommended home from the people you care for.”

Elsewhere in Worcestershire Latimer Court in Darwin Avenue, Worcester, was named 19th in the West Midlands.
