LADIES of the RNLI (Evesham branch) I salute you!
What a splendid tea party you put on, served in the delightful garden of one of your members.
We all know the preparation and hard work involved to make it look so inviting.
Then a willing and swift band of helpers served us with endless pots of tea and delicious cream scones with strawberry jam.
There were meringues to die for and cakes galore – all home made, I am sure.
The afternoon was a joy.
There were raffle tickets on sale and the most magnificent lifeboat-sized cake to be won for the correct weight guessed (I was 2oz out!).
All this contributed about £500.
The afternoon could not have better organised and enjoyed so much.
Here’s to next year!
