A HOMELESS hound is still looking for new owners after entering a dogs home more than five months ago.
Jessie, a seven-year-old Crossbreed, is hoping that she will soon be on her way to a forever home, despite being overlooked by thousands of potential owners visiting Dogs Trust Evesham.
Jessie came into the dogs trust in September 2016 and has since seen hundreds of dogs find new owners.
Natalie Gould, Jessie’s carer at Dogs Trust Evesham, said: “We’ve rehomed all different shapes and sizes of dogs and different breeds, from Lurchers to Labradors and Shar Peis to Staffies but Jessie just hasn’t caught anyone’s eye enough to want to take her home.
"We’ve had over 2,500 visitors since she arrived but she is still waiting.
The team of canine carers at the Wickhamford-based rehoming centre have discovered that Jessie adores squeaky toys and tasty treats.
Ms Gould added: “Jessie was quite anxious when she initially came to us but with lots of affection from her carers, consistency and routine, she has really come a long way in her training and blossomed into a fantastic dog.
"Once she knows you and earns your trust, she is an affectionate and loving pooch who will make a fabulous addition to the right home.
“She does take a little bit longer to feel relaxed so potential adopters will need to be prepared to visit the centre several times to build a bond with Jessie and be prepared to give her time and space to settle in and start to feel secure in her new home."
“Whilst we all love her, nothing will compare to finally seeing her find a home to call her own.”
