CHILDREN at St Andrew's CE School took to the river as part of an initiative to encourage healthy habits.
Year four and year five pupils took part in the event for the first time in the school's history.
Students had the chance to learn about river safety and learn about the river environment as well as taking in some of the views on the River Avon.
Andrea Bailey, headteacher said: "Having worked with Andy Train, former Olympic Paddler, in previous schools, I was aware of the benefits to the children of participating in Bell-Boating activities.
"The children can’t wait to take part in the inter-schools regatta in June and who knows, the next Olympic paddler may have been inspired."
The children will now take part in the inter-schools regatta in June.
