A WORKING party improved footpaths by adding four new kissing gates.
Evesham Rambling Club working party ventured to the banks of the River Severn near Ripple.
Working with Worcestershire County Council Countryside Service, the team cleared away a great deal of undergrowth that hid four dilapidated stiles and replaced them with four kissing gates.
Club spokesman Alan Saunders said: "The working party normally carries out most of its work in the Evesham and Pershore area.
"On this occasion, we agreed to undertake some urgent work to improve access near Upton upon Severn.
"We managed to put a team of 10 members together and completed the work in just under a day."
Over the past year, the working party has tackled a number of projects, from replacing footbridges and pedestrian gates to improving footpaths.
Some of this work is in preparation for a circular walk round Evesham that the club is developing to mark its founding 70 years ago.
The club hasn’t forgotten its main purpose and organises a minimum of 3 rambles each month as well as walking holidays, both in the UK and abroad.
