AFTER half a century of service a store manager celebrated his retirement.
Brian Frodsham joined Boots in 1967, celebrating his 50th anniversary on Monday, August 14 and retiring on Saturday.
Mr Frodsham, 67, has worked at various shops for the company, including Stroud, Cheltenham, Hereford and Paignton in Devon before finishing up at the Bridge Street store in Evesham.
He said: "I think it is something to be proud of, having worked for one company for so long.
"I think the fact that I have been to so many different places and held so many different roles means that it has kept me fresh.
"I will miss all of the staff I have worked with, they have helped to make my retirement celebrations special, I had a nice lunch with my staff and a special cake and the regional manager came by which was nice.
"I think the biggest change I have seen at the company is the increased use of the internet, as has been the case in most professions.
"Now I am off on holiday for two weeks and I think I will volunteer at the railway to keep myself doing something, I have two grandkids so they will keep me busy as well."
