THE Hampton Flower Show, which took place on Saturday in Evesham, was a huge success for the participants, organisers and the community.

Sponsored by developer Bloor Homes, the show was held at the new village green off Pershore Road, opposite Hampton Flower Shop and featured a variety of stalls, crafts, entertainment and activities.

Hundreds of visitors enjoyed the show, which featured a barbecue, live band, dancers and other performers. There were also several competitions for bakers, and gardeners.

As well as raising money for St Andrew’s Church of England School, Bloor Homes held a raffle, donating a hamper to the lucky winner.

Sally Holt of Bloor said: “The new village green was created as part of our development at the Hamptons, and it made a fantastic setting for the Hampton Flower Show.

“It was so wonderful to see so many residents of our development, who thoroughly enjoyed the event as a community.

“The level of involvement from the local people was brilliant and it was a real pleasure to sponsor the first ever show this year.”

Children at the school took part in a tallest sunflower competition and photos of their entries were displayed at the event, while pupil Erin Lilley, five, won the competition to design the logo for the show.
