A DRAMATIC society has been resurrected some 15 years after it closed.
Around 15 years ago, the Ashton Players, an amateur dramatic society based in Ashton under Hill gave their last performance before disbanding.
The group have decided to resurrect the society with seven short plays, based on Roald Dahl's 'Tales of the Unexpected.'
Nick Thomas, of the society said: "We have decided to resurrect this great Society and have written an evening of 7 short plays based on the 'shock ending' formula of Roald Dahl's 'Tales of the Unexpected'.
"We have recruited around 25 adults and children from Ashton, most of whom have never acted, danced or sung before (all of which they will be doing) to put on two performances.
"Needless to say it's been a great community project and will be raising money to improve social facilities within the village."
The plays will be performed on Friday March 2 and Saturday March 3 from 7.30pm at Ashton First School. Tickets cost £5
