FLOOD warnings are in force across the county.

The River Avon is expected to flood at Strensham, Bredon and Wyre Piddle, near Worcester.

Eckington Bridge and Jubilee Bridge, in Fladbury, are closed due to flooding.

The water level in Evesham reached 2.54 metres this morning, with minor flooding possible when it hits 1.90m metres.

A flood alert has also been issued for the River Severn, which reached 3.43 metres in Worcester today.

Dave Throup, Environment Agency manager for Herefordshire and Worcestershire, said: "[There's] low level normal winter flooding, mainly on the lower River Avon and River Severn downstream of Worcester."

Mr Throup said rivers will start to drop by tomorrow but noted that more rain is forecast for Thursday.

He added that water levels are similar to last Christmas.

Upton has also closed its New Street floodgate.
