A MAN is fighting for his life after being stabbed in Evesham.

The stabbing is reported to have happened near the Workman Gardens toilets, at the junction of Port Street, Waterside and Bridge in Evesham, at about 11.17am.

Police cornered off part of Waterside, Evesham, as well as a section of Workman Gardens and a driveway leading to a social club on the opposite side of the road.

A forensics team could be seen working around Workman Gardens and the toilets, where a number of items including a hat, blankets or a coat could be seen labelled as evidence.

A least half a dozen police cars, including a forensics team, were at the scene today.

"There were a couple of police cars, an ambulance and flashing lights.
"That is all we saw really. We saw all this and wondered what was going on."
