A MUSIC club is celebrating its 70th anniversary.
To celebrate 70 years since the Evesham and district music club was conceived, a special programme of music and musicians has been planned for the 2018/19 season from September to April 2019. Three of the evenings involve musicians who have appeared at the BBC Proms .
Membership co-ordinator, Sally Hutchinson, says: “We would like to encourage more people to sign up as a member for these concerts, at a discounted rate, before the first concert on September 19, so that they can enjoy 6 fabulous concerts and make a saving of £26 for this special season.”

On Wednesday, September 19, Roderick Williams OBE will perform accompanied by Iain Burnside. This well liked and versatile baritone will be singing Schuberts “Die schöne Müllerin” (The Lovely Mill-maiden) followed by a Q&A session with the audience. This concert is at 7.30 at Evesham Arts Centre and tickets are £25.
On Friday, October 5, Giacomo Susani, an Italian guitarist offering a range of music old and new will perform along with local singers Musyck Anon, an early music group, sharing the stage at All Saints Church, Evesham from 7.30. The ticket price is £16.
On Friday, November 23, The national youth jazz orchestra ambassadors are giving an evening with an introduction to jazz. This concert is also at all saints church, Evesham from 7.30. Tickets are £16.
On Friday, January 11, Benjamin Grosvenor, an internationally regarded pianist returns to Evesham Arts Centre at 7.30 . Ticket price- £25
On Thursday, February 28, Trio Goya bring their pianoforte and string players to present Mozart, Bach ,Paxton and other composers using the instruments prior to today’s piano to Evesham Arts Centre at 7.30. Tickets are £17.
On Saturday, April 6, there will be an afternoon special with Worcestershire Youth Orchestra, showcasing the talent of the counties premier young musicians . This concert starts at 4pm at Evesham Arts Centre, tickets cost £7.5 for an adult, (under 16’s £3 ( free with a paying adult).
