A 10 year old was concerned about some "horrible messy graffiti" in Evesham.

Harriett Batchelor, aged 10 contacted the Evesham Journal describing the graffiti which she found whilst walking through the town with her mum Pip and brother Leo. Harriet said the vandalism was on the "lovely" cafe Babyccino Coffee and on Delicious, another cafe, with some more near Aldi, Peacock’s and the park.

"We were so sad that people are making mess in our lovely town. We moved here 3 years ago because it was so nice and beautiful but now someone is making a mess in it " said Harriet.

Sharon Casswell, Client Services Manager at Wychavon District Council, said: “While we sympathise with the business owner in this situation the building is privately owned, therefore it is their responsibility to have it removed. Unfortunately we do not have the money to clean graffiti from private property.

“Anyone with any information about this incident should contact the police on 101. Graffiti is a blight on our district and we would urge people if they see any on public property to report it via our website at wychavon.gov.uk/graffiti-and-fly-posting-removal.”

A spokesman from Babyccino Coffee, Merstow Green, Evesham said: "We are saddened and disappointed in this senseless act of vandalism, to not just Babyccino coffee, but other businesses along Merstow green and the town centre.

The suspects were caught on CCTV and a report has been filed with the local police. "

The cafe said they were unable to remove the graffiti but found a colour match to repaint the walls. The graffiti has now been fully covered up.
