PUMPKINS have always been a vital part of Halloween, carve out a scary face to ward off the evil spirits or if you are extra picky you can now brave the cold and go out to pick the perfect pumpkin for you.

Big ones, small ones, round ones... the choice is yours. Wrap up warm, get your boots on and prepare to get your hands dirty as we go pumpkin picking at Clive's of Cropthorne. The local farm shop, butchery and cafe are holding their pumpkin picking event starting Saturday (October 13). It promises to give you the family experience of choosing your own pumpkin from the vast array, and there will be an area for you to carve out a scary face on site meaning no mess at home. If you are hungry after your day of pumpkin gathering, there is a cafe which sell home made meals, freshly baked bread and other farm shop goods. Enjoy pumpkin carving and other ghoulish activities in a heated marquee at Evesham Country Park, from Sunday, October 29 until Tuesday, Oct 31. Turn up anytime between 11am and 4pm and get carving. Forget making a mess all over your kitchen table. At Webb’s Of Wychbold, children can choose a pumpkin and scoop it out and trained staff will cut out a great Halloween face. Pumpkin scooping will be from Friday, October 27 until Tuesday, October 31 from 11am until 4pm each day. A cost of £5:50 includes the pumpkin and a battery operated tea light.
