BREDON helped celebrate more than 10 seasons of the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup at an event hosted by Worcester Warriors.

In the under 12s competition Bredon demonstrated plenty of effort and skill but fell just short of earning a trip to the Gallagher Premiership final on June 1.

Despite seeing that honour go to Stourbridge, Bredon's Barney Cooper, 11, was still proud of his side’s performances.

He said: “Rugby is the best sport in the world and it can’t get any better than playing rugby on a cold Sunday morning in Worcester. I get to see all my friends and it’s been good fun.

“I enjoy playing rugby because it’s really exciting and it means a lot to be playing in a competition like this. My favourite player is Marcus Smith. I’d love to play at the same level as him one day.

“If we had won it would’ve been amazing because we’d have gone to Twickenham but playing in the competition was still fun.”

The competition also featured Pershore, Droitwich and Upton.

Participating players had the opportunity to meet Worcester Warriors duo Ethan Waller and Jamie Shillcock.
