Evesham's Festival of Light will take place on Saturday November 17.

Last year four people created a lantern parade that led from the Rowing Club and up into the Market Square. Over 100 people participated last year with people who had travelled as far and wide as Wales and Birmingham.

Lisa Blakeman who participated last year said: "The photo brings back lovely memories".

This years festival will have the theme of 'The Avon'. With this theme are ideas such as swans, flowers and lanterns decorated with leaves. Ideas are being posted on the Facebook page. Kelly-Anne Archer, one of the organisers said: "The event is a spectacular we hope for all to be involved in. Already we have confirmed Cubs, Guides, Brownies and St Andrews school getting involved. There are various craft suggestions on our Facebook page and we also have craft space thanks to Crafters Companion, located at The Valley on the following dates for people to join a led Lantern making session: Friday 9th and Wednesday 14th all starting at 3pm".

Sessions can be booked via Facebook or email karcherrich@hotmail.co.uk.

Evesham Concert Band is also playing a concert at Evesham Rowing Club on November 17 from 17:00 for the parade to start at 17:30. Parking will be available down near the club. Just like last year it is a torch lit procession with no flames involved. More information can be found on facebook.com/groups/EveshamLightFestival.
