STAFF and four-legged residents at a dog shelter are hoping that members of the public and local businesses will help to make this year’s forthcoming Christmas fair a success by donating prizes for the raffle.

The fair will take place at the Dogs Trust rehoming centre in Wickhamford from 12pm-4pm on Saturday, November 24. Staff are appealing for donations for the tombola and raffle which helps raise money for dogs every year.

At least 80 dogs will spend Christmas Day at the centre and every penny raised at the festive fair will go towards looking after the dogs until they find their 'forever homes.'

Prizes have previously included bottles of wine, boxes of chocolates, gift sets, vouchers and good-as-new items for dogs.

Shauna Stedman, supporter relations officer at Dogs Trust Evesham, said: “Our Christmas fair is one of our key fundraising events of the year and every penny raised makes sure we can give our dogs everything they need throughout the year, not just at Christmas, whilst they wait for their forever homes.

“Our raffle and tombola are our most popular stalls so we’d be so grateful for any donations that will help us raise as much money as possible. We are hoping that there are kind-hearted dog lovers out there who can donate prizes and help us raise much-needed pounds for hounds this Christmas.”

Visitors to the fair will have the opportunity to indulge their two-legged and four-legged friends with crafts and gifts on sale, a doggie tombola, a raffle, Santa Paws’ grotto where children and dogs can meet Father Christmas and seasonal refreshments.

If you are able to help, drop off any donations to Dogs Trust Evesham, 89 Pitchers Hill, Wickhamford, Evesham, WR11 7RT by November 20. For more information call Shauna Stedman on 01386 835 842.
