AN occupational therapist from Honeybourne is celebrating having won an Outstanding Mentor award.
Deborah Gregg, who works with the South CARS (Community Assessment Recovery Service) Mental Health Team, was presented with the honour at the University of Worcester’s 10th annual Health and Social Care Mentor Awards.
“I was really shocked to have won,” said the 43-year-old. “I was so delighted as I see being a mentor as just part of my job. It felt really good to be recognised.
“Being a mentor is very rewarding as you have the opportunity to see your students grow in confidence and develop the skills actually needed to do the job.
“It is also an ideal way to remind yourself of the theory underpinning your own practice."
Each year the University of Worcester Health and Social Care Mentor Awards celebrate the outstanding contribution that professionals from the health and social care sector make.
