A SCHOOL has taken part in a campaign to keep the area clean and tidy.
In support of Evesham Anti-Litter Campaign, St Egwins C of E School pupils, who are supporters of the campaign, carried out their own pick of the school grounds on Wednesday 19 December, prior to the Christmas holidays.
Teacher, Laura Keogh, who coordinated the pick on behalf of the school said;
"The students loved doing the litter pick and in our eco meeting they are now going to take the lead on promoting anti litter in our school and want to regularly complete picks on the school site."
The campaign is run by the The Evesham Town Plan Anti-Litter Group which launched in 2016. Since then, the volunteers have picked 450 large bags of litter, saving an average of £2500 in contractor costs.
The group was formed in response to the Evesham Town Plan where 1,200 residents responded to a survey, expressing their dissatisfaction at the level of litter in the town.
