The auditions for Wychavon’s biggest talent competition The W Factor are just around the corner.

The W Factor is open to performers and artists aged 11-18 that live or go to school in Wychavon.

Performers can showcase their skills in such categories as dance, drama, music, singing (solo or in a group), DJ and Music Production and comedy.

Open auditions kick off on the following dates:

Tuesday, January 15, at Droitwich Spa High School from 5.30pm.

Wednesday, January 16, at The De Montfort School in Evesham from 5.30pm.

Thursday, January 17, at the Civic Centre in Pershore from 5.30pm.

The selected finalists will get to perform at the Number 8 Arts Centre in Pershore in a professional showcase final with industry standard production facilities on Monday, March 18.

The winners will also get training from professional artists to help them develop and they

will be able to perform at local events throughout the summer of 2019.

Tracy Grubb, Wychavon District Council’s community development officer, said: “The auditions are nearly upon us and we are so excited to see what the talented young people of Wychavon have to show us.

“The competition is a great way of building confidence and meeting new people. We welcome children with any abilities and additional needs to take part.”

Anyone wanting to come to an audition will need to fill out an application form. These are available online from wychavon.gov.uk/events-training-and-workshops along with a photo consent form.
