The Valley shopping centre in Evesham has thrown its weight behind local England Deaf footballer Jamie Clarke’s dream of representing his country at this summer's Deaf World Cup in Crete.
Each player needs to raise £1,000 to cover travel and accommodation and this week The Valley teamed up with Pavers Shoes (where Jamie’s sister Natalie works) to host a ‘meet and greet’ event to help him reach his target.
Phil Maclean, senior marketing manager at The Valley, said: “We are all proud of Jamie’s achievement by captaining the English Deaf football team and were, of course, happy to support his dream of playing in the Deaf World Cup this summer.
"We’ve been busy spreading the word amongst our generous shoppers both at Thursday’s event and across our social media channels."
